Add a person
Add a director, officer, shareholder or other individual to the People register, without creating a duplicate of someone already there.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
Everyone who holds an office, a shareholding or significant control in your companies has one record on the People register, and that one record carries all their roles across the group. Add a person when someone new joins a board or the share register. Before you do, check they are not already on file: the same director serving three companies should be one person, not three.
Add the person
Open People from the sidebar and click New person.
Enter their First name and Last name, and leave Status as Active for someone serving now. Click Add person.
The person's Profile opens next, so you can complete the rest of their record.
If the name is already on the register
When the name you type matches a person already on file, the dialog says so and links to the existing record.
Open the existing record and check whether it is the same individual. If it is, close the dialog and use that record. If it is someone different who shares the name, click Add person anyway.
Tips from practice
- Appoint a director from the company's Directors & Officers page; see Appoint a director. You can choose an existing person there, which keeps one record per individual.
- If a duplicate has already been created, merge it rather than deleting it; see Merge duplicate people.
- Tick people on the register and click Generate profile to produce one PDF profile of them all, for a board pack or a regulator.
