Assign tasks to people and teams

Give a task an owner from the Compliance Calendar, one at a time or several at once, so every deadline has a name against it.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

A deadline with nobody's name against it is the one that is missed. Many tasks raised by IQ Entities arrive unassigned, so part of working the calendar is deciding who owns each one. Assign to a person when one person will do the work, and to a team when whoever is free can pick it up.

Assign one task

  1. On the Compliance Calendar, click the name in the Assignee column of the task.

  2. Choose a person under People, a team under Teams, or Unassigned. The change is saved straight away.

Assign several at once

  1. Tick the box at the start of each task you want to assign.

  2. Choose Assign to in the bar above the list, and choose the person or team. Every selected task is assigned to them.

From the task itself

Open the task and choose Edit. Choose the owner under Assignee and save. The owner is shown in the row of badges under the title.

Tips from practice

  • Assign a task when it first appears on the calendar, not when it turns red. An owner has the whole reminder period to do the work.
  • A task assigned to a team appears as the team's name with (team) after it. Anyone holding the role can pick it up.
  • Use Assigned to me on the calendar each morning to see your own list.
  • An external member can be given a task too; their name shows (external) in the list of people.
