Save a document under an entity

Give every document uploaded to the Document Inbox a home under the right entity and folder, so none is left loose.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

A document uploaded to the organisation's Document Inbox is not under any entity until someone saves it there. IQ suggests where each one belongs, and accepting that suggestion in the Review Queue saves it. The rest wait in Unsaved documents, which is worth clearing at the end of a session of uploads so nothing is left loose.

Save a document

  1. In the Document Inbox, click All unsaved documents.

  2. Find the document; Search unsaved documents… narrows a long list. Click its row to read it first if you are not sure whose it is, then click Save.

  3. Search for the entity the document belongs to and click it.

  4. Open Folder to choose where in the entity's documents it goes. Repository root saves it outside any folder.

  5. Choose the folder.

  6. Click Save document. It leaves the list and appears on the entity's Documents page.

Tips from practice

  • The list shows documents uploaded in the last seven days. An older unsaved document drops off it but is not deleted; it stays in your documents.
  • A document saved under the wrong company can be moved: Move on its row in the Document Inbox, or Move to another entity… in the Review Queue, which also reads it again against the right company.
  • If most of a pile belongs to one company, upload it from that entity's own Document Inbox instead: everything uploaded there is saved under that entity straight away.
