Read a company's cap table
See a company's share capital at a glance: its classes, what is issued, who holds it, and each holder's percentage.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
The cap table is where every ownership question about a company starts: how much is issued, who holds it and in what proportion. IQ Entities builds it from the share classes and the securities ledger, so it moves whenever an allotment, transfer or corporate action is recorded.
Read the summary
Open the company and choose Cap Table under Securities in its sidebar.
The tiles at the top give Total authorised, Total issued, the number of Holders, and the Fully diluted count including options and warrants. Below them, the Share classes panel lists each class with what is issued against it and its votes per share.
Read the holdings
The Holdings ledger lists every holder with their share class, Shares held, their percentage, and their Status. Click a column heading to sort by it, and use the filters above the table to narrow it.
Click a row, or choose Details & history from its menu, to see that holding's history.
Where the company has options or warrants, switch between Outstanding and Fully diluted above the table to change the basis of the percentages.
Former holders are kept on the register with the date they ceased, but are hidden from the ledger. Choose Show above the table to list them.
See the cap table on a past date
Choose As at date in the page header and pick a date. The positions are replayed from the securities ledger as they stood that day, rather than read from today's balances.
Tips from practice
- When a figure is wrong, record the transaction that explains it, an allotment, a transfer or a correction, rather than editing a balance. The ledger is the register's history, and a correction recorded there says why it changed. See Correct a mistaken ledger entry.
- If a banner says IQ Entities does not know whether some holdings were paid for, answer it with All fully paid or Check each. Companies House asks for the amount paid up on the statement of capital (SH01 and CS01) when you file.
- A cap table needs a share class before anything can be held. See Set up a share class and Record an allotment of shares.
