Prepare the documents for a task
Draw up the board resolution, consent and other paperwork a task needs from your templates, or upload copies signed elsewhere.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
Behind most filings sits paperwork: the board resolution that approved an appointment, the director's consent to act. A task that needs paperwork lists it in Documents for this task, drawn from your own version of each template where you have one. The question for each document: will you draw it up here, or was it made and signed elsewhere?
See what the task needs
Open the task and find Documents for this task. Each document is listed with the template it comes from. A document marked If applicable depends on the circumstances.
To draw up every document still missing in one go, choose Draw up all.
Add one document
Choose Add document beside the document.
Choose how to add it.
| Situation | Choose |
|---|---|
| Nothing exists yet and the record holds the details | Draw it up, from your template, filled from the record |
| The document was prepared and signed outside IQ Entities | Upload the signed copy |
- Once a draft is drawn up and signed, use Upload signed copy on it to file the signed version against the task.
Tips from practice
- Drawing documents up does not complete the task. The task closes on its own proof, such as the registry accepting the filing.
- Check the draft before it goes for signature. If the record changes, use Draw up again so the document matches it.
- A signed board resolution is also entered in the company's resolutions register, with the date it was passed.
- Where e-signature is switched on for the organisation, Send for signature on a draft sends it to the signatories from the task.
- To make the documents read the way your firm writes them, see Add your own document template.
