Review the audit trail
Find out who changed a record, when, from where, and what it said before.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
Every change in IQ Entities is recorded: who made it, when, where it came from (the web app, the API, IQ, an email) and what each field said before and after. When a director's date of appointment looks wrong, or an auditor asks who updated the register, the audit trail answers it.
Reading the audit trail needs the audit permission.
Open the audit trail
In global scope, click Audit Trail in the sidebar. The newest changes are at the top.
Type a record name, a table or a colleague's name in the search box to narrow the list.
Filter it
Click a filter above the table: Action, Source, Category or Actor.
Tick what to show, such as Update to leave out new and deleted records. Category has Changed who can see what, for the changes that affect access.
Click Clear to remove every filter.
See what changed
Click a row to open it.
Each field that changed is listed with its old value struck through and its new value after it. A deleted record shows its details as they were when it was deleted.
A tick beside the time means the entry is sealed: it is protected by a tamper-evident chain, so it cannot be altered afterwards without that showing.
Tips from practice
- Filter Source to IQ to review the changes IQ made for you, or to MCP for those made through a connected AI tool.
- Columns at the right of the filters adds more detail to the table, such as the reason given for a change.
- For one company's changes only, see See who changed an entity.
