Approve what IQ changes
Check each action IQ proposes before it touches your records, and approve, reject or approve them all at once.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
When IQ wants to change your data, such as setting up a new company or recording an appointment, it stops and asks. Nothing is written until you approve. That pause is where you check that IQ understood the request: the right company, the right person, the right date.
Read the request
In the chat, each action IQ wants to take appears as a card marked Needs your approval. Click the card's heading to see the details of the request.
A card for a change says Approve this before it's applied to your data, with Approve and Reject.
Click Approve to let IQ go ahead, or Reject to stop it. A rejected action says Rejected and that no changes were made.
Let look-ups through for the rest of the chat
If you chose Ask before every action, IQ asks before it looks things up as well. A look-up changes nothing, so it offers Always allow in this chat.
Click Always allow in this chat on a look-up to stop IQ asking about that kind of look-up again in this conversation.
A note above the question box lists what is always allowed in the chat. Click Undo there to start asking again.
A change can never be always-allowed: its card says it asks every time.
Approve several at once
When more than one action is waiting, a bar above the question box counts them.
Click Approve all to approve every waiting action in one go.
Tips from practice
- Open the card before approving a change to a register. The request shows exactly what IQ will write.
- Reject rather than ignore a wrong action, then tell IQ what was wrong in your next message.
- How often IQ asks is set per chat. See Choose when IQ asks first.
