Add a registration
Record an entity's home registration or a registration in another jurisdiction, with its number, dates and registered agent.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
Registrations holds where an entity is registered: its home registration, where it was formed, and any registration elsewhere, such as an overseas company registering a branch, a VAT registration or a licence. Each one carries its registry number, status and dates.
Add the registration
Open the entity and choose Registrations in its sidebar. Click New registration.
On Details, choose the Jurisdiction and the Type, and enter the Registration number and any other references the registry gives you. Tick This is the home (formation) jurisdiction for the registration where the entity was formed. Click Next.
Some types say under the jurisdiction that recording them adds a duty to the entity. Read that line: it tells you what the registration will put on the calendar.
On Dates, add the Registration date and, where the registration runs out, the Registration expiry. Some types will not move on without an expiry date, because their renewal is dated from it.
On Agent & Address, choose the Registered agent if one acts for the entity there. Agents are the ones recorded under Addresses & Agents.
On Review, check the values and click Create registration.
The home registration is shown in its own card at the top of the page, and every other registration in the list below it.
Tips from practice
- For a UK company's home registration, the wizard also asks for the Companies House authentication code, which filing needs.
- Edit a registration from the ⋯ menu on its row. Record a cancelled registration with its Cancelled date rather than deleting it.
- The registration number on the home registration is the one shown on Entity Details.
