Report a new registered office

File the AD01 for a registered office move recorded in IQ Entities, from the task the new address raised.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

When the board moves the company's registered office, the move only takes effect once Companies House registers it. Recording the new registered office in IQ Entities raises the task for the AD01, and the form files the address the record holds at the moment you file.

File the change of registered office

  1. Record the new registered office on the company's addresses. The company's first registered office raises nothing, because it is what Companies House already holds; a new one that replaces it raises the task.

  2. Open the (AD01) File the change of registered office task from Compliance Calendar. The sentence under the title gives the date and the new address.

  3. Click File a registry form.

  4. Check the New registered office and Country in Review before filing. The form also confirms that the new office is an appropriate address, as the Companies Act requires.

  5. Click File it.

Tips from practice

  • Keep the old office able to receive post for a while after the move. Documents can still be validly served there for 14 days after Companies House registers the change.
  • If you correct the new address before filing, the same task files the corrected one. There is one change-of-office task per company at a time.
  • Record the board resolution that approved the move, so the decision and the filing sit together.
