Export the audit trail

Download the audit entries you have filtered as a spreadsheet, for an auditor or your own records.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

An auditor, a regulator or an internal review will often want the changes to a company over a period in a file. Export the audit trail rather than keeping a separate change log: the file holds exactly the entries the table is showing.

Export what you see

  1. Open the audit trail, for the organisation or for one entity, and narrow it with the search box and filters until the table shows the entries you need. See Review the audit trail.

  2. Click Export CSV. The file downloads with the rows your filters show.

When nothing matches the filters, Export CSV is greyed out: there is nothing to export.

Export it as a report

  1. For a period, a record type or one actor, open Reports, then Audit trail under Audit & activity.

  2. Set its filters, such as From and Record type, and click Generate report. See Run a report.

Tips from practice

  • Filter before you export: an unfiltered export of a busy organisation is long, and an auditor wants the changes in scope, not everything.
  • For one group of companies, open the parent's audit trail and choose This group before exporting. See See who changed an entity.
  • The export uses the search and filters the table is using, so check the table before you click.
