Record a filing made with another regulator

File a duty with the regulator that owns it, using the values the task lists, then record the reference to close the task.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

Not every duty is filed with Companies House. A data protection fee is paid to the ICO, a tax return goes to HMRC. IQ Entities does not submit these, but the task tells you where to file, lists what to enter, and keeps the reference the regulator gives you as the proof.

File it with the regulator

  1. Open the task. Under Do the work, How to file names the regulator and the form, with Open the registry beside it.

  2. What to enter lists the values the form asks for, taken from the entity's record. Use Copy beside a value, or Copy all values, and paste them into the regulator's form.

  3. Submit the form on the regulator's own site and keep the reference it issues.

Record the filing

  1. Back on the task, enter the reference the regulator issued and the Date filed. Attach the receipt or confirmation if you have it.

  2. Choose Record the filing.

  3. The Proof card now says every criterion is satisfied, each with its evidence recorded.

Tips from practice

  • If a value in What to enter is wrong, correct the entity's record before you file, so the regulator and the register say the same thing.
  • Record the reference exactly as issued. It is what a later reader uses to find the filing on the regulator's side.
  • A renewal date that IQ Entities cannot work out, such as the anniversary of an ICO registration, is set by recording the registration with its expiry; see Keep licences and registrations renewed.
