Look back at what was done

Use the calendar's History tab to see every task that closed, how and when, and put one back on the outstanding list if it closed by mistake.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

Sooner or later someone asks what was done and when: an auditor sampling filings, a new director, the board at the year end. The outstanding list cannot answer, because a task leaves it the moment it closes. The History tab holds every closed task, so between the two tabs every task the group has ever had is accounted for.

Open the History tab

  1. On the Compliance Calendar, choose History. A badge on the tab counts the tasks closed by someone else, or by IQ Entities, since you last opened it. Opening the tab clears the badge.

  2. The tab lists done, cancelled and deleted tasks together, newest first. Closed gives the date each one closed, and Status says how.

Status What happened
Done The duty was discharged: the evidence arrived, or someone marked it done
Cancelled The duty stopped being owed, such as when the record behind it was withdrawn
Deleted Someone removed the task, with a reason that is kept in its history

Sort and narrow it

  1. Closed sorts the tab by the date each task closed. Click the heading to turn the order round, oldest first.

  2. The search box, Type, Priority and Assigned to me narrow the History tab the same way as the list. See Narrow the calendar to the work you need.

  3. Click a task to open it. Its own History tab lists every change to it, who made it and when.

Put a task back

A task closed by mistake can be reopened from its status.

  1. Click the task's status, and choose Open.

  2. The task leaves the History tab and returns to the outstanding list.

Tips from practice

  • Not recorded in the Closed column means the task closed without a date being stamped, as when it was cancelled from its status. The task's own history still says when.
  • For an entity's whole track record, on time and late, year by year, see Show an entity's compliance track record.
  • Deleting a task is for one raised in error, not for one that is finished. A deleted task never counts as Completed; see Add or remove a task by hand.
  • Many tasks close themselves when their proof arrives, which is why the badge exists. Check it after a filing goes in.
