Export a structure chart

Download the group structure as an image, a PDF or a Word document, with a certified extract signature box when one is needed.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

A board pack, a bank's know-your-customer request or a completion bible each needs the group chart as a file. Export it from the chart itself, so the file shows exactly the group you have filtered and laid out on screen, at full size rather than at the zoom you happen to be viewing.

Set the chart up for the reader

  1. Open the company's Relationships page and filter the chart to what the reader needs (see See your group structure). A lender usually wants controlling holdings only; an auditor wants every holding.

  2. Choose Include fields to add facts to each card, such as the company number or jurisdiction.

  3. Choose Display to set the Levels shown, the Layout (Auto, Tree or Comb) and the Connectors (Stepped or Curved).

Add a certified extract signature box

When the chart is to be certified as a true extract, turn on Add certified extract signature box in Display, and fill in the Full name, Position and Date of attestation to print beneath it.

The signature line itself is left blank, to be signed on paper or in your e-signature tool. The name defaults to yours and the date to today if you leave them empty.

Download it

  1. Choose Download.

  2. Choose Image (PNG), PDF or Word. The file is named after the company, with the date when you are viewing the group as at a past date.

Tips from practice

  • Collapsed branches are exported with their +N badge, so the file never silently leaves out part of the group. Open every level first if the reader needs the whole group on one page.
  • PowerPoint is not offered from this chart. To get an editable PowerPoint, choose Model this structure and download from the model (see Model a proposed reorganisation).
  • To keep a record of the group as it stood on a date, set As at before you export: the date goes into the file name.
