Record related parties and transactions

Note a director's family, trusts and companies, and any dealings they have with a group company.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

Related-party disclosures in the accounts, conflicts checks before a board decision, and the list of persons closely associated under the market abuse rules all start from the same facts: who a director is connected to, and whether any of them deal with the group. Record those connections on the director's page once, and they are there for each of those purposes.

  1. Open the person's page, choose Associations in the sidebar, and open Related parties.

  2. Click Record a related party.

  3. Enter the Name and choose the Relationship, such as Spouse, Child, Trust or Company or other legal person. Only the name is required, so record what you know now and add the rest later.

  4. Enter From if the relationship has a start date, and the date it was Declared on.

  5. Click Record related party.

Tips from practice

  • When a relationship ends, give it a To date rather than removing it. A related party with transactions recorded against it cannot be removed.
  • Answer On normal commercial terms? for each transaction: it is the question auditors ask about every related-party dealing.
  • Leave Amount blank when no figure was stated. It is recorded as not quantified, which is not the same as nothing.
  • Rather than collecting these details yourself, send the director a questionnaire: their answers land on this page.

Next: Send a director questionnaire.
