Manage what IQ remembers
Read, correct and clear the notes IQ keeps about you and your organisation between chats.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
IQ keeps a short memory of the things that hold from one chat to the next: who the parent company is, how your board works, how you like dates written. It adds to this memory itself when it learns something lasting, and you can read and edit it at any time. A wrong note here colours every answer, so check it now and then.
Read IQ's memory
Open Settings from the menu under your name at the foot of the sidebar, then choose AI Memory.
The box shows everything IQ remembers, one note per line, with a count of the characters used.
Correct it
Edit the text: correct a note that is out of date, delete one you do not want kept, or add one IQ should know.
Click Save memory.
To start again from nothing, click Clear.
The memory holds up to 10,000 characters. Once it is longer than 5,000, IQ uses the first and last 2,500 of them, so keep the notes that matter most at the top.
Tips from practice
- Write notes as facts, one per line: "Board meetings are held quarterly" works better than a paragraph.
- Update the memory when something changes for good, such as a new company secretary or a change of parent company.
- Instructions for one chat only belong in that chat. See Ask IQ a question.
