Open a task and see what raised it
Open a compliance task and read why it exists, what started it, why it is due when it is and what will close it.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
Before you act on a task, read it from the top. A task raised by IQ Entities says what started it, which law it comes from, the data it is about and what proof will close it. Most questions a director or auditor asks about a deadline are answered on this page.
Open the task
Click the task's name on the Compliance Calendar. A task opened from the group-wide calendar keeps you in the group view.
The sentence under the title says what raised the task, such as a company being added or a director being appointed, with the date.
The row of badges under it gives the status, the priority, the type, the due date and who the task is assigned to.
See why it is due then
Why this date explains what the deadline was counted from: the date a change was recorded, the date of the event, or the statutory period. Where the law sets no deadline, it says so.
A padlock beside the due date means the date belongs to the schedule rather than to you. Hover it to read why. To change it, correct the record it was counted from.
Read the duty
Why this exists and what is expected of you explains the duty in plain words. The duty's name beside the heading opens its own page; see Read the law behind a duty.
What we hold shows the data the task is about, as the record stands today. Manage opens the register where that data is changed.
See what will close it
Choose the Proof tab. Its count says how many of the task's criteria are satisfied.
Each criterion is something IQ Entities watches for, such as an answer on the register or a filing accepted by the registry. They are not steps to tick: they change on their own as the evidence arrives, and the task closes when they are all satisfied.
Tips from practice
- Where the header shows Closes itself instead of Mark done, the task cannot be closed by hand. Do the work the proof describes and the task closes when the evidence lands.
- The History tab lists every change to the task, who made it and when. It is the record to show an auditor.
- Mute stops notifications about one task for you alone, without changing it for anyone else.
- Next: Mark a task as done, or Fill in what a filing still needs for a filing task.
