Connect Companies House e-filing

Set up filing to Companies House from IQ Entities: the presenter account, the filing codes, and how to tell it is ready.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

IQ Entities files confirmation statements and other forms with Companies House electronically. Filing needs three things in place: your organisation's own Software Filing presenter account, each company's authentication code, and, for some forms, each director's personal code. The Companies House e-filing integration is where all three are set up, by an administrator with the permission to manage the organisation's settings.

Open the integration

  1. In Administration, open Integrations and click the Companies House e-filing tile.

  2. The panel shows where the connection stands, in one sentence under the description, and three actions.

Action What it is for Guide
Presenter account The organisation's presenter ID and authentication code, used for every filing Connect your Companies House presenter account
Filing codes The companies and directors whose codes are still missing Find missing Companies House codes
How filing works A summary of what each filing needs

Check it is ready

The sentence under the description says which state the connection is in:

It says What to do
Connect your Companies House presenter account… Open Presenter account and enter the presenter's credentials
Connected, but no presenter credentials yet… The same: filings are refused until the credentials are saved
Connected. Filings go out under your own Companies House presenter account… Ready. Check Filing codes for any company you are about to file for

The status on the tile reads Connected once the presenter account is saved. There is no Disconnect for Companies House: to change the presenter, open Presenter account and enter the new credentials.

Tips from practice

  • Do this before the first confirmation statement falls due, not on the day. Companies House takes time to issue a new presenter account.
  • Open Filing codes once the presenter is saved and work through the list. Every filing is authorised by the company's own authentication code, so a company on that list is one you cannot file for yet.
  • Filings go to the live Companies House service and onto the public register, so make sure the people filing know how the review works first: see File a form from its task.
