Connect your Companies House presenter account
Connect your organisation's Software Filing presenter account once, so filings from IQ Entities go to Companies House under your presenter.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
Every electronic filing reaches Companies House under a presenter: the account that says who is transmitting it. Your organisation needs one Software Filing presenter account, and it covers every company you file for, so this is done once, by an administrator, before the first filing.
Two credentials are easy to confuse here. The presenter account is yours and is the same for every filing. Each company also has its own authentication code, which proves the filing is authorised for that company; that one is saved per company, in Save a company's authentication code.
Before you start
Apply to Companies House for a Software Filing presenter account if your organisation does not have one. Companies House sends back a presenter ID and a presenter authentication code. You do not need a software package reference: IQ Entities sends its own as the filing software.
Open the Companies House integration
In Administration, open Integrations and click the Companies House e-filing tile.
Click Presenter account. The same panel has Filing codes, which opens the list of codes still missing, and How filing works, a summary of what each filing needs.
Enter the presenter's credentials
Enter the Presenter ID and the Authentication code Companies House sent you.
Click Test connection. It checks the ID and code with Companies House without saving or filing anything, so you can press it as often as you need.
If the presenter account has filed before, with other software or directly, enter the highest submission number it has used in Last submission number used (optional). Companies House requires every submission number to be higher than the last, and IQ Entities continues from the number you give. Leave it blank for a new account.
Click Save. The credentials are encrypted and never shown again; to change them, open Presenter account and enter the new ones.
Tips from practice
- Test the connection before you save. A presenter ID or code typed wrongly is found then, rather than on the first filing that is refused.
- Filings made through the live service go on the public register and cannot be withdrawn, so connect the account only once the people who will file know how the review works: see File a form from its task.
- If your organisation used other filing software, ask its administrator for the last submission number before you switch. A number Companies House has already seen is rejected.
