Choose the register's columns

Pick which columns the Entity Register shows, in what order and sorted how, for everyone in your organisation.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

The register starts with the columns most teams need: name, type, jurisdiction, company group, status and incorporation date. A team that works from company numbers, LEIs or registered offices can add those columns instead, and the register then shows them to everyone.

The layout is shared across your organisation. The Columns button only appears for people whose role is allowed to change register layouts.

Change the columns

  1. On the Entity Register, click Columns.

  2. Under More columns, tick a column to show it. Type in Find a column… to find one by name. A table shows at most 20 columns, so hide one to add another once you reach the limit.

  3. Under Shown, in order, untick a column to hide it, and drag the columns or use the arrows to reorder them. Legal name is always shown, first.

  4. Choose a Default order if the register should open sorted by something other than its standard order, such as incorporation date.

  5. Click Save for everyone. The panel says whose layout you are changing, and who last changed it.

Tips from practice

  • Showing a column also adds its filter to the register, so add a column such as Legal form when the team needs to filter by it.
  • Hiding a column while its filter is set removes the filter too, so the register is never narrowed by something nobody can see.
  • Reset to standard puts the product's default layout back. Agree a layout with the team before changing it: everyone sees the change at once.
