See who changed an entity
Open the audit trail of one company, or of a parent company and everything it controls.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
When a question is about one company, such as who changed its registered office or when a director was recorded, start from that company's own audit trail rather than the whole organisation's. Widen it to the group when the change could have been made anywhere below the parent.
Open one entity's audit trail
Choose the entity, then click Audit Trail in its menu in the sidebar.
The page lists the changes to that entity's own records, newest first, with the same search, filters and Export CSV as the organisation's audit trail.
Widen it to the group
Click This group in the top bar. The trail now covers the entity and every company it controls.
Click This entity to go back to the company on its own.
Tips from practice
- Open a row to see each field's old and new value. See Review the audit trail.
- The audit trail shows every change to the data. For the company's own story, such as former names and past directors, see Review an entity's history.
- A person has an audit trail of their own too, in their menu when you open them.
