Report a person with significant control

File the PSC notification for an entry on the company's PSC register, from the task the confirmed entry raised.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

When someone becomes a person with significant control of a UK company and confirms their particulars, Companies House must be told within 14 days of the confirmation. Recording the confirmed entry on the company's PSC register in IQ Entities raises the task for the notification, and the form is built from the entry and the person's record. The question that decides the form is what kind of controller it is.

Kind of PSC Form
An individual PSC01
A relevant legal entity, such as a parent company PSC02
An other registrable person PSC03

Before you file

  1. Record the entry with its natures of control and its dates, including the date the person confirmed their particulars: see Record a person with significant control. An entry with no confirmation date raises no notification yet.

  2. For an individual, save their personal code from identity verification: see Record a director's personal code.

Open the filing from the register

  1. Open the company's PSC register and click the actions menu on the entry.

  2. Choose File at Companies House. It opens the notification task for that entry; you can also open the task from Compliance Calendar.

File the notification

  1. Check the task. Its title names the form, and the sentence under it says who was confirmed and when.

  2. Fill in anything listed under Needed to file, then click File a registry form.

  3. Check Review before filing: the person, their date of birth, nationality, country of residence, service address, usual residential address, natures of control, the date they became registrable and the date their particulars were confirmed. Click File it.

Later changes

The same menu carries the filings that follow an entry. File a change of details reports a change to the PSC's particulars, File the cessation at Companies House appears once the entry has ceased, and File a verification statement confirms an individual PSC's identity verification. Each one opens its own task, filed the same way.

Tips from practice

  • The 14 days run from the date the PSC confirmed their particulars, not from the date they gained control. Record the confirmation date as soon as it arrives.
  • When someone stops being a PSC, use Record cessation on the entry rather than deleting it, so the cessation filing is raised.
  • A change to an individual PSC's name or address saved on their person record raises the change-of-details task too, once it is saved as a change rather than a correction: see Report a change to a director's details.
