Add a framework of your own

Record a house manual, policy or agreement as a framework, place your own duties under it, and attach it to a group in one step.

Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

Statutes are not the only source of a company's duties. A group governance manual, a client's services agreement or a lender's facility agreement imposes its own, and a duty that says where it comes from is easier to defend than one listed under no framework at all. Recording the instrument as a framework of your own also means a group can follow all of it at once.

Create the framework

  1. In Administration, open Requirements and choose New framework of your own.

  2. Give it a Title and choose its Kind: Internal policy for a house manual, Contract for an agreement with a client or lender. Fill in Who enforces it and Reference (the version or clause) so a reader knows which edition the duties rest on. Choose Create.

Place your duties under it

  1. Open the Mine tab.

  2. Under Your frameworks, choose the framework. A new one shows 0 duties until you place some under it.

  3. On the framework's page, choose Add a duty of your own.

  4. Tick the duties the framework requires and choose Add. Only your organisation sees the addition.

  5. The duties are listed under Your additions.

The duties reach your companies once the framework is attached to a group: on Requirement assignments, choose Attach on the group and then A whole framework. See Assign requirements to a group.

Tips from practice

  • Write the duties first, then the framework. Add a duty of your own lists only duties that already exist, so start with Write your own requirement.
  • You can link a new duty to its framework on the last step of the requirement wizard, under Which law or agreement requires this?, instead of adding it from the framework's page.
  • Title the framework as the document itself is titled. It is the name people see beside each duty it requires.
  • Check the duty counts under Your frameworks from time to time. A framework still showing 0 duties requires nothing of any company.
