Change your password and turn on two-factor
Change the password you sign in with, and add a second step at sign-in with an authenticator app, passkey or security key.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
IQ Entities holds your organisation's statutory records, so your sign-in protects more than your own work. Change your password when you suspect anyone else knows it, and turn on two-factor authentication so that a password alone is not enough to get in.
Change your password
Open Settings from the menu under your name at the foot of the sidebar, then choose Password & Security.
Type your Current password, then the New password twice, in New password and Confirm new password.
Click Update password. If the current password is wrong, or the new one is not accepted, the reason appears under the fields.
Turn on two-factor authentication
On the same page, find Two-factor authentication and click Enable.
IQ Entities takes you to the sign-in service's own setup page. Follow it to add an authenticator app, a passkey or a security key, and you are brought back when it is done.
The section now says two-factor authentication is enabled and lists the methods you have added. Click Add another method to add a second one, such as a security key as well as your phone.
Tips from practice
- Add two methods, not one. If you lose the phone with your authenticator app on it, the second method still lets you in.
- Use a long password you do not use anywhere else. The page asks for it twice, and Update password stays greyed out until the two match.
- Your organisation may require two-factor authentication for everyone; administrators set that in Require two-factor authentication.
