Group entities by hand
Tick the entities you want on the register and put them in a hand-picked group, or add them to an existing one.
Screenshots are retaken from IQ Entities on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.
Some sets of companies share nothing a rule could describe: the four companies in a disposal, the entities a particular adviser looks after. A hand-picked group holds exactly the entities you put in it. Groups are what requirements are assigned to, under Requirement assignments in Administration, so a hand-picked group can carry the duties that apply to that set.
Creating a group needs permission to manage settings. Adding entities to an existing group needs permission to edit entities.
Choose the entities
On the Entity Register, tick the box at the start of each entity's row. Your selection stays ticked while you search and filter, so you can build it from several searches.
Click Group … entities above the register.
Create the group, or add to one
To start a new group, stay on New group, enter a Name and click Create hand-picked group.
To add the selection to a group that already exists, choose Existing group, pick the Group and click Add ….
The dialog names every entity in the selection, so check the list before you confirm.
Tips from practice
- Nothing joins a hand-picked group on its own, however many new companies would fit. Add and remove members yourself.
- Adding entities by hand to a group that has conditions keeps them in it whatever the conditions say, and the conditions go on adding the entities they match.
- The tick box in the register's header ticks the rows loaded on screen, not every entity that matches your search.
